INDUSTRIAL RAW SPACE AND THE HISTORY OF THE ART FACTORY
This industrial style wedding venue is a massive historic space with vintage charm. It hosts a sweet bridal room with ribbons adorning the walls. It’s a twenty minute ride out of New York City, which makes it convenient for city dwellers.
The Art Factory (also known as Hollywood East) is housed within approximately 25 historic buildings that once housed the Dolphin Manufacturing Company. The largest buildings are known for American Hemp Co. spinning hemp into rope. Eventually they moved to spinning of jute and the production of twisted jute carpeting. The firm continued to prosper and was the largest jute factory in the U.S.
The Art Factory went through a major renovation and saved this historic building from being demolished. Currently, this vast building, which itself as “the largest center for creative enterprise in the hemisphere,” is used for film shoots, community spaces, workshops, and weddings.
