Erica and Matthew were married on June 8th with a ceremony and reception at The Saybrook Point Inn on the coast of Connecticut.
When I arrived at Saybrook Point Inn, I knew that we were going to have a fabulous day. The couple chose the venue for it’s outdoor and nautical party feel. The sun was shining and the weather was perfect! The bridal suite was full of bridesmaids who were so excited to be all together sharing the day with Erica.
Erica and Matthew love the water, so it was no surprise that they got engaged in Newport, Rhode Island.
As told by the bride –
” For our 6 year anniversary we decided to take a weekend trip to Newport, which we have done multiple times before for special occasions. That Saturday we did a bunch of fun activities including going to the Newport Vineyard. I was leisurely enjoying myself and Matt kept saying he wanted to leave soon because he thought it’d be nice to watch the sunset, again not really abnormal.
So we drove to this beautiful mini cliff walk trail in Fort Adams (little did I know Matt had scoped it out far in advance!). It was kind of chilly so I didn’t want to get out of the car for too long but he convinced me. As we stood there overlooking the ocean and the amazing view he said, “Oh Babe I have an anniversary card for you” (even though it was technically 1 day early). I read the sweetest card out loud and when I finished I turned to him and he was down on one knee and said “Will you marry me?” After screaming “Really?!” twice I ,of course, said yes! ”
A sunset proposal in Fort Adams…I would say Matt accomplished his mission!
They exchanged vows with the ocean in the background, sailboats cruising by, and their dear friends and family surrounding them. The love their wedding party and family expressed towards them was truly incredible and could be felt everywhere.
Erica and Matthew, thank you for sharing a piece of your hearts with me. From our silly engagement session on the beach in Watch Hill to the epic party last weekend, so many amazing moments shared. You two have such pure and unconditional love for each other and it is an honor to call you my friends!
