Joanna and Bill were married on August 10th, with a ceremony at Saint Thomas More Catholic Chapel at Yale University and a reception at The Owenego Beach Club in Branford, Connecticut.
They had their first date at Bar Taco in Port Chester, NY and it was a blind date! Joanna walked in to an empty restaurant with one single man at the bar. She asked if he was Bill to which he replied no, and Joanna walked away quickly texting Bill where he was. He was waiting in his truck in the parking lot! He rushed inside where they hugged and laughed about what had just happened! The rest of the night was full of smiles and laughter. The rest is history….
From the bride –
“Bill booked us a trip to Italy for vacation at the end of March 2019. We planned to meet up with his sister and brother-in- law in Asiago, Venezia, Italy at the beginning of the trip and then off to Rome and Venice. Once we got to Asiago, Bill asked to go for a walk (an activity we do a lot together!) and in a valley with the Italian alps surrounding us, he got on one knee and proposed”.
Joanna and Bill were married at Saint Thomas More Catholic Chapel, a beautiful church nestled within the campus of Yale. Loved ones surrounded them while streams of golden sunlight came through the windows blessing the couple. After the ring exchange and kiss, they exited the church with their happy guests cheering them on!
The Owenego Beach Club is a Branford gem and is the last of its kind. Of the thirty beach resorts that once dotted the beautiful shoreline town, only The Owenego remains. Having welcomed guests to the Connecticut coast since 1847, The Owenego is a perfect setting to host a wedding.
After their sweet first dance and lobster dinner, we adventured outside for sunset photos by the water. The sunset that night was absolutely magical! The most beautiful shades of pink painted across the sky and created the perfect backdrop for photos. As we were leaving, we stopped one last time to really soak in that sky and that feeling of pure bliss.
Joanna and Bill, I am so happy to have documented your love. I am blessed to have met you both and now call you friends.
