Katherine and Christopher || Squantam Association Wedding || Providence, RI

Wedding

A Providence wedding

Katherine and Christopher were married on November 10th with a ceremony and a reception at The Squantam Association in Providence, RI.

Katherine and Christopher’s ten year love story

Katherine and Christopher were neighbors sophomore year of college and that is where it all began. They both fell hard for each other and were just having the time of their lives. Katherine loves that Christopher is one of the funniest people she has ever met and that definitely won her over.

Fast forward to the engagement! From the bride –

“Chris had just gotten a promotion at work and so we were going out to dinner to celebrate. We ended up “getting there early,” so we took a stroll around the waterfront. We are fans of Jeopardy and at this time watched it every night. However, since we were going out to dinner, we were missing the episode, so as we were walking he said “Since we’re missing Jeopardy, I brought Jeopardy to us” and he pulled out index cards that all had “answers” about us- Where we first met, where we had our first kiss, etc. Then the last card (my favorite card) was “The amount of time I want to spend with you” in which the “question” was “What is forever?” and then next thing I knew, he was asking me to marry him.”

Such a fun and unique way to get engaged! I love how it really mirrors who they are as a couple and was perfectly fitting.

A waterfront wedding at the Squantam Association

Katherine and Chris chose to get married at one of the most unique venues I have ever had the pleasure to photograph. The Squantam association is a private club in East Providence nestled on a hill looking over Narraganset Bay. It has stunning views, gorgeous architecture and is really a hidden gem.

On the day of their wedding, the skies were blue, the sun was shining and it was incredibly windy.  I started off the day with Katherine and then headed to the first look location to grab some portraits of Chris. They both shared a private moment during their first look and calmed each-other’s nerves before the ceremony.

The couple had a really great group surrounding them the whole day. While it may have been really windy and cold, the wedding party and the bride and groom did not let that stop them from having the time of their lives! One of my favorite parts of the day was when Katherine and her father had their first dance. Katherine’s father is a choreographer, so clearly they had a dance planned together and Katherine kept right up with her dad. Katherine’s uncles were also dancers, so you can imagine what kind of dance party it was – EPIC!

Katherine and Chris, you two were such a joy to photograph and just simply be around. Your love is contagious! Wishing you a bright and happy future together!

xx,

Amma
