Chelsie and Timothy were married on October 29th, with a ceremony and reception at the Wingate Plantation.
These two met on a blind date at a baseball game. Since then, they’ve only fallen deeper in love with each other, relying on each other’s faith and love to drive them through everything that life has thrown at them, whether it’s Tim’s career in the Navy and Chelsie’s job as a teacher and children’s fitness director or the smaller things like going to sporting events and singing Disney songs in the car together at the top of their lungs.
Then, right around Chelsie’s birthday, Tim decided to take her to New York City—one of her favorite places—to see Wicked for the first time. This was special to Chelsie because she had tried to see the musical three times previously, and it fell through every time. While they were in NYC, discussing how great the weekend had been, Chelsie told Tim how loved he made her feel. And he took that opportunity to pop the question!
After their engagement, I was able to photograph their engagement photos in Connecticut. Even though the wedding was in South Carolina, we bonded so much during the session that they decided to hire me as their wedding photographer, which I was oh-so grateful for!
Their wedding itself was in Charleston, so I flew in a few days ahead of time to get ready and adventure around Charleston to get to know the area. By the time Victoria Fulmer, my second shooter, and I headed up to the Wingate Planation, I really felt like I was comfortable there. That made it easy to focus on shooting the details and the bridal prep while Victoria was with the guys.
We set up a first look by the grandiose oak tree where the ceremony would take place. This tree was simply magnificent, gracefully draped with Spanish moss. It was a magnificent backdrop for both their first look and then their beautiful, emotional ceremony. Everyone prayed together under that big oak tree, and blessings were passed around everywhere. It truly was a touching, genuine wedding filled with people who so obviously love and support them.
I couldn’t get over how perfect Chelsie and Tim were during their portraits together. Tim was so gentle and sweet with Chelsie, and they both complemented each other in so many ways.
I’d also be remiss if I didn’t heap praise on Chelsie for all the work she did at the wedding. So many of the details were DIY; she is extremely talented!!
Chelsie & Tim, oh what a year it has been! The road may not be easy, and although the Navy may separate you from each other for long periods of time, I know together you will stand strong though it all. So many blessings to you, my friends!
