I spend the weekend before New Year’s Eve in Dumbo celebrating the wedding of Ben and Sarah. Ben’s family welcomed me into his childhood home in Brooklyn and they instantly made me feel like family. His dad was making cider on the stovetop that was a family recipe and the house smelled so delicious! They were married in an intimate ceremony surrounded by their family and friends.
I asked what they loved about each-other and this is what they told me.
Sarah- I love they way he always wants to take care of everyone. He is very in tune with what the people around him are feeling. I love his goofy jokes and that he always want to hold my hand. I love that he let’s me control the remote 😉
Ben- That Sarah always laughs at my stupid jokes and listens to my various ramblings. Sarah is one of the only people I always felt comfortable with. I’ve always felt that I could tell her anything and she would never judge me. Even before we were dating she was always my best friend.
We then adventured over to the Brooklyn Bridge to take more intimate photos of the couple. Dumbo was very busy that day but that did not bother Ben and Sarah at all. In fact, they really were more concerned with each-other than their surroundings which was super sweet.
After the portraits under the Brooklyn Bridge, we went to the reception venue, One Hotel in Brooklyn. The hotel is a Brooklyn Bridge waterfront retreat, with expansive views of the East River and Manhattan skyline. Designed by local artists using native greenery and reclaimed materials, nature is home in Brooklyn. The hotel was such a gorgeous venue space with so much beautiful greenery and personal touches that were very impressive.
As the sun was setting, we went to the rooftop of the hotel for some golden hour photos of the Manhattan Skyline. Sarah and Ben joked, cuddled and smiled the whole time! It was such a joy to photograph and witness.
