Alyssa and Brian were married on September 14th, with a ceremony and a reception at Latitude 41 at the Mystic Seaport.
These two met at Viron Rondo Osteria in Cheshire, CT and shared a love for Italy. They instantly fell for each other and their relationship grew until Brian plotted an Italian proposal during sunset in Venice.
“We got engaged in Italy in June of 2017. It was our first time traveling on a big (out of the country) trip together. We spent our second day in Italy exploring Venice all day long, which required tons of walking. By night time we were totally exhausted and all I wanted to do was lay down and relax. Brian had other plans and suggested we go for a walk by the water. I was extremely hesitant and kept urging we stop and sit (because of the insane amounts of walking we did that day!!) until we came upon an empty pier. We compromised and walked to the end of the pier and sat and watched the sunset and at that point Brian proposed!”
I started the day with the girls at a cute airbnb in Mystic. Alyssa was getting her final prep done before slipping into her dress. We shared some sweet moments with her mom and sister and headed to the seaport for the first look and to see her honey!
Alyssa and Brian intimately saw each other for the first time on their wedding day privately on the seaport grounds. I always love when couples can get some time together, away from it all. We then headed to the ceremony, which overlooked the Mystic River as puffy clouds were sailing by. They exchanged vows surrounded by their intimate group which was full of tears, ginormous smiles and oh-so-much love. Oh, and a seagull that landed right next to them as soon as it started and left after the kiss… 🙂
There is always one part of a wedding day that truly stands out to me and is incredibly moving. Alyssa and Brian’s dads both had passed away and they both have amazing mothers who had such incredible pride and love in their hearts for them. The moms, the siblings…all the family celebrated them in such a beautiful way and their dads are for sure proud.
Alyssa shared a dance with her mother to the song ” Ribbon in the Sky ” by Stevie Wonder. The song was also her mom and dad’s first dance song and was an incredible tribute to her father. It brought tears to my eyes as I watched them dance, sing and belt out the lyrics to the song in such a joyous celebration.
Alyssa and Brian, thank you from the bottom of my heart for being so incredible. From the engagement session to the wedding day, you have welcomed me into your hearts and I am forever grateful! I am so happy for your new little family, say hi to Buddy fro me!
xx,
Amma
