Katherine and Timothy were married on June 29th with a ceremony and reception at The Saybrook Point Inn.
When I asked Katherine why they chose The Saybrook Inn as their wedding venue, she said – “We chose our wedding venue because it symbolized us. We both grew up boating and on the water. Honestly, as soon as our wedding coordinator walked us down the brick walkway and me down the aisle, past all the boats and marina, I pictured myself on my wedding day and that was all I needed. The venue is also just 15 minutes from where I grew up in Madison, CT, so that felt like home to me.”
The weather was perfect on the day of the wedding with the right amount of cloud coverage and a nice breeze. I met Katherine in the Lighthouse Suite, walking into a 90’s dance party with the girls blasting Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey. This group of ladies were great and as soon as I met the groomsmen, I knew it was going to be a FUN night!
Katherine and Timothy shared vows together by the water surrounded by their closest friends and family. There was so much incredible JOY shared during the ceremony and it was so much fun to photograph.
After the ceremony, the guests enjoyed cocktail hour overlooking the water while the sun was setting. I am not lying when I tell you that night was one of the most spectacular sunsets I have ever seen. The newlyweds shared some moments alone on the dock while we photographed their last round of portraits. Everywhere we turned, the sky was a different shade of yellow, orange, pink, and purple. I was overjoyed that the couple got to enjoy the most incredible sunset on their wedding day.
The day rolled into night and the party started with a live band and a perfect first dance. Katherine had told me that it was a younger crowd who all loved to dance and boy, they did not disappoint. Epic dancing and blow-up instruments set the tone for partying into the night.
Katherine and Timothy, what a JOY it was to share this day with you. You two are perfect for each other and I am honored to have witnessed your love.
