Katie and Dan wanted a more urban feel for there engagement session. Katie lived in Brooklyn, NY before moving to Connecticut and wanted to incorporate feelings of the city into the session. We chose to start at MBAR in Mystic Ct and then finish in Stonington Borough for some sunset photos.
Right when I met these two in the parking lot of MBAR, I knew we would become instant friends and that this session was going to be fun! They ordered a round of drinks and got cozy together while I captured their sweet love in their beautiful New England engagement photography session.
Katie and Dan have been together since they were eighteen years old and fit together perfectly. Katie described to me how they became engaged and I high-fived Dan immediately for the amazing effort.
“We planned a trip to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. Dan wrote a letter to the resort two weeks before our trip telling them he was going to propose to his longtime girlfriend and anything they could do to make it even more special would be greatly appreciated. They upgraded us to one of the nicest suite on the property. It was an incredible night. We had just finished dinner and went back to the room to relax and drink some wine before we went out. We were sitting out on our balcony listening to music and he went inside got the ring, came back outside and popped the question. It was such an amazing night and I will never forget it “
After Katie told me the story, Dan added such a sweet statement. He said that Katie has always been his best friend and that there is nothing better than getting to marry your best friend. Talk about GOOSEBUMPS!!
Katie and Dan, I am so excited to share your day with you and I am honored that you chose me to document one of the most important days of your lives! I can’t wait for the party!
