Perri and Eric were married on October 14th, with a ceremony and reception at Belle Mer in Newport, Rhode Island. These two met in Boston after a mutual friend set them up. They not only fell in love, but became best friends for the rest of their lives.
When Eric proposed to Perri, he decorated their entire apartment with rose petals and candles. He even dressed their dogs up in bride and groom outfits! He proposed privately, and then, once she said yes, he walked her to the window, where both of their moms were holding up a sign that said, “She said yes!” They invited their friends and family in so that they could celebrate and then had a bigger celebration on a boat that went around the harbor that weekend.
On the day of the wedding, my second shooter, Kayla Marie, and I met Perri and Eric at Gurneys, which is right down the street from Belle Mer. Both of them were putting the finishing touches on for the first look, but it was obvious Perri was stressed out because of the weather. It rained for most of the day, and I could tell that she wasn’t happy about it. But everything changed when she saw Eric during the first look. In that moment, I could literally see the stress melt away as they exchanged such sweet, private smiles. My heart almost exploded! They make each other so extremely happy, and when they are together, nothing else matters. The weather and the details fell away and it was just love between them.
The ceremony itself was filled with incredibly personal touches, like the two pups that walked down the aisle. Eric owns luxury doggie hotels, so it was so important to them to make this work. I’m glad they were able to pull it off!
I also loved the way they were introduced to the party as husband and wife. They came out to an upbeat song and jumped around and danced with each other, with some of their favorite people dancing right alongside them. They came out full-on high-intensity and then slowly transitioned to a slower song to dance together. What a way to be introduced!
Perri & Eric, you two know how to throw an epic party! The family and friends surrounding you are truly the best. And clearly, they will always have your backs. I am so honored to have been the one to capture part of your love story; thank you for inviting me into your hearts. Cheers to all the future fur babies and real babies! 😉
